fluffybunny21 asked: Motoki locks Usagi and Mamoru in a closet for a day
A/N: Enjoy this one, and I expect you’d know the ending. =P
“Do you think the monsters exist?”
“There’re no such things as monsters, meatball brain. Maybe if you studied a little harder you would know they aren’t real.”
Scuffling could be heard in the closet. Mamoru could feel the strands of her long hair brushing against his fingers as she shuffled about, trying to feel for a more comfortable space. The couple had long given up shouting, which honestly, almost made him deaf from her screams and wails. Maybe the kid was afraid of the dark, he mused. He didn’t mind; he grew up in the dark. Most of his years were spent alone, and even in his own flat, he didn’t even really need to switch the lights most of the time.
“Aren’t you afraid?”
“Afraid of what?”
“You know, the dark, monsters….lightning..”
Mamoru swore he could literally picture her shaking her head. A slight chuckle escaped his lips as he remembered a line he saw on the internet.
“You know what they say, when you grow up, the monsters from your closet move into your mind.”
“EEP!”
She was shaking now, he was sure. But there were no wails, no screams, no heated retorts. Was something wrong? Mamoru reached his hand out, touching her shoulder.
“Odango?” He could feel her really shaking now.
“Oi, Odango!” Uh-oh, I think I just made her cry.”Get it together!” Mamoru tugged at her ponytails. “Hey, don’t be afraid.”
“Why?” Her voice came out like a whine, and it was obvious she was trying not to let it show that she had been crying.
“Because your monster must have been really kind and good. That’s why you’re the way you are now”
“You really think so?”
“….Yea. Because you’re too carefree and happy all the time.”
“Thank you.”
A grunt was the only response. Usagi sniffled a bit and pulled at his jacket and leaned against his warm body. Somehow being near him gave her the comfort she was looking for. His scent seemed to calm her down right now and she was a little tired from crying and screaming earlier. Supressing a yawn, she closed her eyes and drifted off into sleep.
Sensing Usagi’s body had relaxed, Mamoru too, relaxed. All of the earlier shouting had worn him out as well. Subconsciously, he put his arm over the sleeping female and leaned against her for support as sleep overtook him.
*ShhhhhH!
*You’d wake them!
*Not now!
Mamoru’s eyes widened in shock as the flash of a camera blinded him.
